Pray for people who do not yet know Jesus
There are still over 10,000 people groups in the world today who are as yet to hear and receive the gospel. Over 4000 of these are Muslim, largely located across north Africa, the Middle East and Asia. ReachAcross is standing on the Bible’s promise in Revelation 7:9-10 that some from every people group will come to follow Jesus. Please pray for today’s featured people group below:
Pray for our Missionaries
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
– Philippians 4:6-7
We count it a great privilege to be able to pray for our missionaries and all the Lord is doing through them in the proclamation of the gospel in predominantly Muslim lands and cultures. If you would like to join us in praying for our missionaries and the ministry of ReachAcross, please do contact us and ask about how you can be involved. ReachAcross can send you a monthly prayer diary by email or by post. Each day gives opportunity to give thanks for prayers answered or to pray for some new situation our missionaries are facing. In particular we are praying for Muslims to come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour!

Serve Short Term and Gap Year
“Whoever serves Me must follow Me; and where I am, My servant
also will be. My Father will honour the one who serves Me.”
– John 12:26
Jesus is always looking for people who will follow Him. This isn’t just following His example, it is following Him! This involves a life of listening to the Lord and giving our all to serve Him as an expression of our love and worship.
Jesus has told us to go into all the world and preach the gospel, making disciples of all peoples (Mark 16:15; Matthew 28:19-20). In obedience to this great commission that is what Christians have done down the centuries, and we have the great privilege of doing the same! Young (and not so young!) men and women from across the globe come and serve with ReachAcross in proclaiming the gospel and helping make disciples of Jesus right across north Africa, the Middle East and Asia, as well as in the UK.
If you sense that Jesus is calling you to serve Him in this way, then ReachAcross can offer you opportunities to serve short term or longer term. We consider short term as being service from just a few weeks, up to two years. If you are thinking of doing a ‘Gap’ year, then ReachAcross could be part or all of that year of service. Serve Long Term
“While they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit
said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I
have called them.” So after they had fasted and prayed, they
placed their hands on them and sent them off.”
– Acts 13:2-3
As Christians, we share the gospel with family, friends, neighbours, colleagues and others we meet. It is just a normal part of following Jesus while living and working in our homeland. But for some Christians, they hear or sense Him saying they are to leave what they are doing, and begin to serve Him full time in proclaiming and sharing the gospel with those who as yet have not heard or accepted it.
An aspect of this calling may be to use our skills, experience or profession in serving among Muslims, putting us in situations where we share our lives with them while also proclaiming Jesus as Lord and Saviour.
It is a great privilege to serve long term in mission. It is a daily adventure with the Lord as He works out his salvation purposes in the nations and in our lives.
If you sense that Jesus is calling you to serve Him in this way, then ReachAcross can offer you opportunities to serve long term. We consider long term to be service of two years or more. Some of our longer term members serve for a fixed period of two to four years (we call this mid-term service), while most of our long term members serve ‘open ended’, sensing a call to long term service and not knowing if and when that will come to an end! If you are sensing a call to long term mission service then ReachAcross has immediate openings and opportunities for service. We are looking for those who can serve as medics or teachers or in other professions, but are also looking for those who simply want to live among Muslims and share the gospel with them.
